This year, for Halloween, we decided to amend banner on web-feet’s homepage. The orange pumpkins were an obvious choice, but because we love challenges we decided to add something extra in the form of a flickering candle

To create the candle flickering effect we took a trick from the animation industry to build a frame by frame version of the candle flame and used a  jQuery carousel auto playing on page load and looping through the images of the flame in different positions. We think it definitely added something a bit special to the overall Halloween mood of the scene.

Sometimes on a website there are pages you want only want live for a certain period of time such as a Sale or Special offers page. For this reason we have added the option to chose the date and time when you want particular pages to go live.

The date/time selector uses the jQuery date time plugin (left), so there’s no need to worry what date/time format to enter. Instead you will get a nice graphical interface to select the date from a calendar.

To put a page live after a between certain dates, just fill in the “Live From Date” and “Live Until Date” fields. However if you just want a page live after a certain date you can leave the “Live Until Date” blank, conversely if you wanted a page live until a date then you just leave the “Live From Date” blank.
